Uncle Creepy and Cousin Eerie masks from Don Post Studios were advertised on and off in various formats within the pages of Creepy magazine for a span of 22 years. This post attempts to chronicle these various appearances…

The first ad would appear in Issue # 11 back in October 1966. The ad would showcase deluxe and standard versions of both Creepy and Eerie. I have never seen a photo of one of these Creepy masks in any collection. To the best of my knowledge it was not released. Color photos of the mask do exist in Creepy issues 6 & 7. I’m not certain, but I would bet it was sculpted by Don Post Sr, while the Eerie appears to be a Pat Newman sculpture…

Issue #17,  released in October 1967, would feature the Pat Newman sculpted  Deluxe Uncle Creepy that we’ve all grown to love and associate as being THE Don Post Studios Uncle Creepy mask…

Issue #18 (Jan. 1968) contained this ad in which is adorned with a deluxe Uncle Creepy mask…

Interestingly enough, the original ad format would return to Creepy Magazine in issue #43 (Jan. 1972) as well as issues 44, 46, 51-53, 56-57. The November 1973 issue would be the last time it appeared in the publication…

A new ad format would make it’s debut in issue #60 (Feb. 1974) and appear on and off through issue 80 (June 1976)…

Once again a new format graced the pages of Creepy in issue #81 (July 1976) and appeared on and off until it’s final appearance one year later in issue #90 (July 1977)…

Star Wars mask ads would dominate the next several issues of Creepy until issue #95. This new ad would only appear in two issues, making final appearance in issue #98 (June 1978). Even though Creepy magazine would be published for close to another 50 issues, the Creepy and Eerie masks would never been seen in the pages of Creepy magazine again…
