If the moon looks especially large this weekend, it’s because its a lot closer to Earth – 26,465 miles closer to be exact. Take a look at this Huffington Post infographic:
Take a picture in the early evening while the moon closest to the horizon for the most dramatic pictures. Remember you will need a tripod, a good telephoto lens, and the ability to shoot in manual mode to adjust settings (such as these):
Canon EOS Rebel XSi: ISO 100, Aperture f/11, Shutter Speed 1/125
Nikon D90 DSLR: ISO 200, Aperture f/11, Shutter Speed 1/250
