I recently found this picture and thought you might like to see it. Halloween. Ann Arbor, Michigan 1957.

Halloween. 1957 Ann Arbor, Michigan. Originally published in the Ann Arbor News.

I found this old picture from the Ann Arbor News. This young boy is looking through a department store (or possibly drug store) window, gazing at a skull mask. Plastic Trick or Treat pumpkin pails line the window display along with other costumes and Halloween decorations. The wonder and attention swirling around in this little boys head is something we could all relate to when we were his age. Great times indeed.

It would have been very cool to look at all of the pre 1960 Halloween merchandise that this store had for sale back in the day. Many of the treasures we vintage Halloween collectors hunt for (and sometimes pay a good amount of money for) could be had for nickles, dimes, and quarters. I haven’t found too many vintage pictures of Halloween merchandise or displays. I hope you found this image to be as classic and wonderful as I did.
