Bram Stoker would have been 165 if he hadn’t died 100 years ago! As you all know, Bram Stoker wrote the Gothic masterpiece “Dracula” in 1897. The book spawned tons of movies over the years, and vampire fans around the world have Mr. Stoker to thank for much of the imagery and style that most modern vampire movies and stories have today.
So who is your favorite Dracula in the movies? Bela Lugosi? Christopher Lee? Gary Oldman? The list goes on and on. All these guys are top notch actors, and although I enjoy the Hammer Horror films that Christopher Lee acted in more than the 1931 Lugosi version of Dracula, I do think Bela Lugosi’s original version of Dracula can not be beat.
