The 1992 Be Something Studios catalog featured an blend of new and old throughout it’s pages. Several BSS classics can be found in this early nineties line-up, including the “Evil Unicorn”, “Drac”, “Fang Face”, “Wicked Witch” and “She Wolf” to name a few. The new masks for the year are all labelled throughout the catalog and include the 2100 Series “Blood Sucker”, “Speaking of Witch”, and “Pure Evil”. The “Speaking of Witch” and “Pure Evil” have both been in my collection for almost two decades and are among the most comfortable masks to wear that I own.

The old standards “Hooded Skull” and “Warlock” were both retooled for the ’92 catalog. More detail was added to the Skull and sculpted-in eyes were added to the Warlock…

The paint schemes on the Skull would vary. Here’s mine with a tag marked 1992…

The 4100 Series was still relatively new at this point having been released a few years back in ’88. I’ve always referred to these as the “Royal” series due to the names of all three masks which are recognizable by the large red collar. The “Royal Skull” remains one of my very favorite BSS designs…

And now, on to the pages of the catalog itself…
