Paranormal Activity 4

Paranormal Activity 4: avoid at all costs, but you probably already knew that. Same tired formula, with a bland tween cast and almost zero scares. The freshness, tension, and crazy ending that Paranormal Activity 3 delivered is completely undermined by this underdeveloped “story” (can it even be called a story at this point?), and characters that have no development or personality. The story goes nowhere, it’s incredibly dull (literally someone left the camera running and called it a movie), and then there’s the completely implausible “twist” with the kid. This is a paycheck-filmmaking at its worst and clearly meant to be a money-grab. The biggest disappointment in horror films this year. [F]
