American Horror Story: Asylum premiered tonight and already, this is a very different show. The pace was absolutely chaotic and shook the viewers into letting go of season one and jumping right into this new chapter. And it is incredibly ambitious: how will they tie the zealous nun, evil scientist, lunatics, monsters in the woods, and probably most surprising of all – aliens – into a coherent story is anyone’s guess. This show continues to be a horror movie fan’s dream come true (but clearly not for everyone else as early reviews have indicated). And as we guessed back in February when the very first teaser poster came out, Asylum’s location is inspired by the infamous and very real Waverly Hills Sanatorium (complete with the tuberculosis and death tunnel).
